"My wife and I cook every Saturday for the homeless shelter. I owe that to god as he saved us. Sonia and I used to be homeless for many years living in our car, we had nothing and the longer we stayed in the street, the harder it was to get back into society. One day, I was totally broken down and begged to god on my knees for help. An external voice came into my head, telling me to go get help at the hospital, I listened to it and it guiding me all the way there. Ever since our lives have turned around and now we dedicate our time to god thanking him by helping others.”

As it is too heavy to carry all the way, the cross is being passed among the St.Franciscans Friars and their followers. A significance for the Friars in remembering Jesus's suffering and a statement that we shall all help and support each-other.

156th street west of Elton Avenue is where the 50 minute pilgrimage ends. A gathering is made at the entrance of the former Roman Catholic parish church of St.Adalbert.  A speech concerning the significance of Easter is made by Father Joseph, followed by a collective prayer and an two hour afternoon mass.

The Franciscan Friars hosts over 60 homeless men in their shelter next door who are in critical need of assistance, due to substance abuse, financial instability, criminal or other social issues. Inside the dining room shelter. A religious speech is made by father Louis before dinner is served.

24 years old Amauri living in the shelter next door to the church.  "I used to be a waiter in Time Square but I lost my job due to cuts, I could not afford my rent anymore so I got kicked out and became homeless. I am staying here for now while hoping to get back on my feet. I was recently offered to rent a small space for cheap. I love anime and got a opportunity to sell those products, now I am hoping to built my own e-shop here in the Bronx.”
